Jeu de mots entre le Serment d’Hippocrate et le sermon d’un hypocrite.
Le serment d’Hippocrate est un serment traditionnellement prêté par les médecins, chirurgiens-dentistes et sages-femmes en Occident avant de commencer à exercer leur profession. Même s’il n’a pas de valeur juridique directe, ceux qui le prononcent s’engagent à toujours agir pour le bien du patient, à garder le secret professionnel, à ne pas nuire et à respecter la vie humaine.
Réalisée à la sortie de la crise Covid en 2022 sur l’angle de cette pharmacie, l’œuvre de l’artiste dénonce le discours des politiques et la réalité vécue par les soignants.

A play on words between the Hippocratic Oath and the sermon of a hypocrite.
The two expressions sound very similar: Serment (oath) vs Sermon (sermon) + Hippocrate vs hypocrite.
The Hippocratic Oath is a traditional oath taken by doctors, dentists and midwives in the West before they begin practising their profession. Even though it has no direct legal value, those who take it commit to always acting in the patient’s best interest, to maintain professional secrecy, to do no harm, and to respect human life.
Created in 2022 at the end of the Covid crisis on the corner of this pharmacy, the artist’s work denounces the discourse of politicians and the reality experienced by healthcare workers.
