« Cette expression n’a qu’un lointain rapport avec le gâteau. Le “cake” dont on parle ici vient de l’occitan et signifie “nœud”. On parle donc d’une tête de nœud, c’est-à-dire de l’idiot du village, au travers d’un calembour antipathique… »
