À propos de l'œuvre

Cette collaboration est née d’un challenge : celui que STMicroelectronics nous a proposé en nous mettant à disposition sa façade monumentale ! 800 m² de tôle ondulée à faire disparaître par le truchement de l’art, à transformer en une œuvre gigantesque grâce au talent de deux artistes n’ayant encore jamais travaillé ensemble.
Les artistes, ayant à cœur d’intégrer leur fresque dans l’environnement naturel du mur sur lequel ils s’expriment, ont tout d’abord effectué un travail de recherche sur le dedans et le dehors. Dedans, pour donner à voir ce qui se passe à l’intérieur de ces murs, à savoir une partie de la R&D de l’un des fleurons mondiaux de l’innovation technologique dans le domaine des puces électroniques. Dehors, pour que l’intégration de cette œuvre soit en parfaite harmonie avec nos montagnes qui encadrent cet immense tableau.
Augustine Kofie est un artiste américain de Los Angeles, pionnier du graffiti et du style « graffuturism », qui représente naturellement la vitesse, les interconnexions et un imaginaire d’innovation. Iota est une jeune artiste belge qui maîtrise à la perfection le figuratif et aime faire se rencontrer l’humain et des matériaux bruts comme le cristal ou la roche.
Deux artistes donc, pour une réalisation à quatre mains et un résultat bluffant qui s’intègre parfaitement dans notre paysage et qui exprime, avec finesse, la relation entre l’homme (la recherche scientifique) et le matériau brut (le silicium) qui se construit au quotidien derrière cette œuvre.

This collaboration was born from a challenge: the one proposed to us by STMicroelectronics when they made their monumental façade available to us! 800 m² of corrugated sheet metal to make disappear through art, to transform into a gigantic work thanks to the talent of two artists who had never worked together before.
The artists, keen to integrate their mural into the natural environment of the wall on which they were expressing themselves, first carried out research on the inside and the outside. Inside, to show what happens within these walls — namely part of the R&D of one of the world’s leading players in technological innovation in the field of electronic chips. Outside, to ensure that the integration of this work harmonised perfectly with our mountains that frame this immense canvas.
Augustine Kofie is an American artist from Los Angeles, a pioneer of graffiti and the “graffuturism” style, which naturally represents speed, interconnections and an imaginary of innovation. Iota is a young Belgian artist who masters figurative painting to perfection and likes to bring together the human and raw materials such as crystal or rock.
Two artists, therefore, for a four-handed creation and a stunning result that integrates perfectly into our landscape and subtly expresses the relationship between man (scientific research) and raw material (silicon) that is built every day behind this work.
